Early Childhood University Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. Children learn best when they are actively engaged, exploring new ideas, asking questions, and discovering how the world around them works. Through play, hands-on experiences, meaningful activities, and positive interactions, our curriculum supports every child’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development.

As children explore real objects and experiment with their own ideas, they begin to understand important concepts such as size, shape, color, and how different things relate to one another.

Through play and everyday experiences, children also begin to discover that one object can represent something else. A block, for example, might become a car, a phone, or a building in a child’s imagination. This ability to let one thing stand for another is an important early step in the development of symbolic thinking.

As children grow, their thinking becomes increasingly complex. They begin using words to represent their ideas, experiences, thoughts, and feelings. They also learn that pictures can represent real people, places, objects, and events. During the preschool years, play provides many opportunities for children to strengthen these symbolic and abstract-thinking skills in natural and meaningful ways.

Learning Through Exploration

The Learning Beyond Paper curriculum offers engaging learning experiences for children from infancy through Pre-K 4. Each lesson can be adapted to match a child’s individual developmental level, allowing us to personalize activities and instruction to support each child’s unique needs, interests, and pace of learning.

The Learning Through Exploration creates meaningful opportunities for children to grow through...

The primary purpose of our early childhood curriculum is to nurture children who are excited to learn. We encourage them to explore, create, ask questions, test their ideas, and develop the confidence to think for themselves.

Our approach is designed to help children grow into independent, curious, and self-assured learners. Rather than focusing only on what children learn in preschool, we emphasize how they learn—building skills and habits that will support them throughout their lives.

Each child is given the opportunity to learn at a pace and in a way that best supports their individual development. By creating positive learning experiences and encouraging healthy attitudes toward themselves and others, we help children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning, confidence, and personal growth.

STEAM Focus

STEAM learning—Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math—is woven throughout our curriculum through engaging, hands-on experiences. We believe children learn best when they are actively exploring, experimenting, creating, and solving problems.

Professional development is woven into our daily teaching practices. By using the Learning Beyond Curriculum, we also invest in the continued growth of our educators, helping them strengthen their skills, expand their knowledge, and stay current with best practices and emerging developments in early childhood education.

Every part of our learning environment is intentionally designed to support each child’s growth and development. From the activities we plan and the materials we provide to the daily schedule, classroom setup, and conversations we have with children, each element works together to support our curriculum goals and help prepare your child for success in school and beyond.
